Take a Hard Look at Our Democracy

Change is possible. We believe the young among us can rise to the occasion and lead in the retaking of Democracy before it’s too late. One form of government that nurtures and protects everyone. We ask the young to take part in this Constitutional Democracy any way they can.

Think Maxwell Frost, the first Gen Z  and the youngest member of the United States Congress. His story is real, and it proves that participation works. Attend town meetings and speak up, or run for the School Board, or City Council or any office where you can make a difference.

Participate. If direct engagement in politics doesn’t thrill you, then read, discuss and educate others about Democracy’s precious value to all of us. Vote or help someone else vote. Boost or join grassroots movements in which you believe. This is how momentum happens.

Create art, music, and culture that inspires change. Whether it’s a zine, a song, a meme, or a short film, art shapes political consciousness. Creative cultural expression is one of Gen Z’s superpowers.

A new Democracy will rise when our young generations seize the task in their own way. Democracy itself is inclusive, placing power in the hands of its citizens. This is why all attempts to destroy it are focused on taking down the commitment to include across the barriers of race, gender and class. This Democracy has the capacity to empower others, so no one is left out. It can ensure racial, gender, LGBTQ+ and economic justice are expressed by our Democracy in law and in practice.

Is Dem Rising? You know it is, like a tide that rises all, it includes all people of our great nation equally, as set forth by the Founders, flawed though they may have been.
